Module Information

The P.A.L.M. Academy SMALL POOL OPERATORS CERTIFICATE has been written specifically to support those people who are responsible for the operation of swimming pools in health clubs, hotels, schools, and specialist, medical facilities such as hydrotherapy pools. Whether the pool is indoor or outdoor, this 2 day course will cover such matters as:-

• Pollution control
• Mechanical systems
• Disinfection
• Water Testing. and
• Remedial Practices

The syllabus follows the guidance offered by the Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group; and its syllabus for the On-site Designated Officer. The course will be delivered by Carlton Associates (2003) Ltd; one of the most experienced training providers in the sport, recreation and physical activity industry. 

This course is suitable for operators of swimming pools that are up to 25m in length, as well as school site managers; health club managers; resort staff; physiotherapists; and Trust Volunteers. There is a Course Handbook provided, and the qualification is assessed though a short ‘multiple-choice’ question test, and a post-course practical assignment.
